Belvedere, Henley – Carvings

For the last 6 months we have been working on an intricately carved Belvedere (‘Belvedere’ is an Italian term for an architectural structure situated to take advantage of a beautiful view – in this case a Garden Pavilion) for a mansion near Henley-on-Thames.

Our work has involved developing the design layouts with Jonathan Lees Architects, sourcing the best fine-grained York Sandstone, developing mock-up carved pieces for approval and finally producing these intricately carved stones.

This is a very exciting project for us, and we are very pleased with how it is developing.  We will be putting together mock-up assemblies and installation work is not too far away… More news on this in the near future!
