Solid Tread Steps
An alternative to the more common ‘clad’ steps
Solid-tread steps provide for a highly robust alternative, with complete flexibility on the nosing detail. Long term integrity, longevity and a look of opulent permanence results from this arrangement.
Where geometry is complex (for example curved steps), it can be easier to achieve in solid, and therefore may even be less expensive than a ‘clad’ stair. Installation method, especially access for lifting heavy units, needs to be considered from the outset. (Example of lifting of steps using a spider crane).
