The Opening of Our State-of-the-Art Interiors Workshop

On October 3rd, 2024, AFJones Stonemasons celebrated an exciting milestone with the opening of our new, state-of-the-art interiors workshop in Ipsden, Oxfordshire. The occasion brought together architects, contractors, interior designers, clients, and friends of the business to toast the future of stonemasonry with cocktails, live music, and a celebration of natural stone.

This new 400m² facility is a significant expansion of our capabilities. Equipped with new state of the art machinery and systems, and featuring its very own post-tensioned staircase, the workshop sets a new standard for what’s possible in interior stonework. The space has doubled our capacity for interiors projects and improved storage, while also freeing up an additional third of capacity for 3D architectural production across other areas of our operations.

Guests had the opportunity to explore the workshop, view the machinery, and experience a variety of natural materials and textures. The design of the space itself reflects our mission to blend traditional masonry skills with cutting-edge technology. Intricately carved post-tensioned beams on the exterior emphasise the growing importance of natural stone not just as an aesthetic material, but as a sustainable, structural element.

This event wasn’t just about celebrating our new facility – it was about reaffirming our commitment to innovation in stonework. By combining historic craftsmanship with the latest advancements in technology, we continue to push the boundaries of what’s achievable with natural stone.
