Summary: A F Jones Stonemasons were chosen as the stonemasons specialist for the Gurkha War Memorial in Aldershot in Hampshire, which was created to mark the contribution made by Gurkha soldiers to the British Army over the last 200 years. We provided the plinth for the sculpture (by Amy Goodman) to be placed upon at a heightened elevation. The memorial received regional coverage from the BBC and ITV regional outlets in the South of England and Thames Valley regions. Th base of the plinth features Vratza - due to its extremely frost resistant qualities. With Portland stone being used for the rest of the statue's plinth.
